The story is set in the fictional form of America during the last years of Prohibition in 1932 when there was no law and the Mafias and illegal gangs used to rule the place. It was a dark time when a single death could result in an all-out blood spree and killing may yield drastic consequences.
91 Days follows Angelo Lagusa’s journey to avenge the death of his family after he witnessed their brutal murder orchestrated by the Vanneti mafia when he was a child. After leaving his hometown, he returns seven years later to make his enemies suffer and eradicate any trace of the name “Vanetti”. 7. Phantom – Zwei
Phantom is an anime based on the video game released in 2000 titled “Phantom of Inferno”. Inferno is a criminal organization attempting to unite all known underworld mob gangs into one conglomerate.
In order to achieve their goal, Inferno deploys its assassin operatives codenamed Phantom. From this point on, Zwei is drawn into a world of conspiracy, deceit, and violence.
6. Dororo – Hyakkimaru
Dororo is set in the Sengoku period of Japan and tells the story of a Rōnin, Hyakkimaru, and a child thief, Dororo. After seeing his kingdom in turmoil, Daigo the ruler makes a deal with 12 demons to prosper his land once again in return for his newborn child. The deal turns out to be very horrendous for the kid as the demons devour all his body parts including the limbs, eyes, and ears.
Somehow, this child survives and is later known as Hyakkimaru. Being accompanied by Dororo, he sets on a mission to take all his body parts back from the demons and turn normal as he was once. Hyakkimaru is a moving example of how a life can still be lived to its fullest despite losing everything.
5. Vinland Saga – Thorfinn

But underneath his calm personality lies powerful people-reading skills and a sharp strategic mind. Ayanokouji is the kind of guy who deliberately scores an average grade just to draw attention away from him otherwise if he wishes he can top the whole school. Although he seems somewhat socially awkward, he is arguably one of the smartest introverts in anime.
