Attack On Titan Movie Announced For November 8

A year after the cinematic end of Hajime Isayama’s decade-long saga on anime’s big screen, Studio Mappa has announced the theatrical release of Attack on Titan movie that will bring the final chapters of the series to Japanese cinemas at the end of this year.

Titled “Attack on Titan the Movie: The Last Attack”, the 145-minute film will be a theatrical version of THE FINAL CHAPTERS (Special 1 & 2) with visual touch-ups and 5.1 surround sound. A teaser has also been unveiled by the makers to commemorate the announcement.

The upcoming Attack on Titan movie will reconstruct the main cuts of the season finale depicting the final battle of the series and the conclusion of Eren’s story. “Nisennen… Moshiku wa… Nimannen Go no Kimi e” by Linked Horizon (from Special 2) has been decided to be the theme song of the final film of the Attack on Titan series.

Series director Yuichiro Hayashi commented on the theatrical release of Attack on Titan Movie, saying, “I originally drew the storyboard with the idea that it would be watched as a single movie, and having the opportunity to have everyone watch it in the best possible environment, the theater, is a dream come true for me”.
