New Data Reveals Top 10 Most Popular Anime Of 2020s Decade

For the fans of the anime, 2020s has turned out to be a great decade so far. With the release of numerous new titles and breakthrough shows, the audience has been thoroughly entertained. But, the question of which anime has been the best of the current decade remains. Luckily, the world’s largest anime database has attempted to answer the same.

A Reddit user recently shared a list of the top 10 most popular anime titles that have been launched this decade to date, based on data collected from MyAnimeList (MAL). The rankings are determined by the number of members who have added a specific show to their watchlist and it goes like this –

#1 Jujutsu Kaisen: 2.53 million members

#2 Spy x Family: 1.54 million members

#3 Chainsaw Man: 1.50 million members

#4 Horimiya: 1.37 million members

#5 Mushoku Tensei: 1.31 million members

#6 Tokyo Revengers: 1.24 million members

#7 My Dress-Up Darling: 1.05 million members

#8 Rent-a-Girlfriend: 983,396 members

#9 Tower of God: 923,597 members

#10 The God of High School: 909,940 members

As clear from the above data, Jujutsu Kaisen is the most popular anime that debuted in the 2020s, followed by Spy × Family at #2 and Chainsaw Man at #3 with 1.5 million members. The list also includes webtoon adaptations like “Tower of God” and “God of High School,” indicating that fans have developed a diverse genre taste in this decade.

It is important to mention that the list includes only newly released titles that premiered in the 2020s. This means that sequels of popular franchises like “Attack on Titan: The Final Season” and “Demon Slayer: Mugen Train” were not considered for this list, as they did not meet the criteria otherwise they would have easily been among the top three contenders.
