After ruling the anime industry with big shonen hits like “Jujutsu Kaisen”, “Attack on Titan”, and “Chainsaw Man”, Studio MAPPA has ventured into creating anime originals. As part of this move, the studio has announced a new project that will offer an insightful story about the struggles of an animator.
Titled “Zenshu”, the upcoming original film by Studio MAPPA promises to take viewers into the bustling industry of anime and give an overview of how their favorite shows are brought to life. A trailer has also been unveiled by the producers which gives a sneak peek into the vibrant and colorful storyboard of the film.
Studio MAPPA has joined hands with “Attack on Titan The Final Season Part 2” episode director, Mitsue Yamazaki is helming the film from the forefront. Written by Kimiko Ueno, the original character designs for the film are provided by Kayoko Ishikawa and Yoshiteru Tsujino with Yukari Hashimoto composing the music.
Zenshu is an anime creation drama about an up-and-coming filmmaker, Natsuko Hirose, who is facing a new challenge – directing a romantic comedy with the theme of first love, despite never having experienced it herself! A theatrical release date for the movie hasn’t been revealed yet, and it will be announced at a later date.
