The horror fantasy series Dorohedoro is gearing up for a return on the small screens after four years with an anime sequel. The makers behind the production of the anime television series has finally decided to make Dorohedoro Season 2 which will continue the journey of series protagonists, Kaiman and Nikaido.
On Tuesday, the official X (formerly Twitter) handle of Dorohedoro released a statement which confirmed the commencement of Dorohedoro Season 2. A vibrant key visual featuring the main cast has also been released which depicts the “chaotic” worldview of the anime. No release date has been revealed yet.

Netflix premiered Dorohedoro anime in 2020 and since then fans have been eagerly waiting for a renewal. On a side note, Studio MAPPA animated the first season with Yuichiro Hayashi as director and Hiroshi Seko in charge of the screenplay. As of writing this article, there’s no update from the studio on whether they’ll produce the anime sequel or not.
However, Dorohedoro Season 2 is most likely to be adapted by the same team, so wait for an official update regarding the staff. Furthermore, the original manga author of the series, Q Hayashida has commented on this news, celebrating the decision to produce a sequel.
“I couldn’t be happier that they are making a continuation of the Dorohedoro anime! Thank you so much to everyone involved. Actually, production has been progressing little by little for quite some time. I was really looking forward to watching it. It’s been a while since the first season, but I hope you’ll come back to the world of Dorohedoro anime once again.”

Dorohedoro is a tempting show for anyone who enjoys a gruesome, blood-soaked, gory spectacle with a pinch of dark humor. As the series will once again be brought to life in the animated form, more information related to the Dorohedoro Season 2 release date will be shared in the future.
Set in a post-apocalyptic future taking place across three distinct realms, the second season will continue the story of Kaiman and Nikaido as they embark on a journey to track down sorcerers and reveal the truth about Kaiman’s originality and Nikaido’s magic.
