One Piece Live Action Is Planned To Have 12 Seasons, Says Co-Producers

Netflix’s current chartbuster live-action series, One Piece is in its third week and is still the top-streamed show with over 35 million views and around 300 million watch hours across the platform. While the series is celebrating its success party, the show producers have given a roadmap of the One Piece Live Action future renewals and their plans for the series.

In an interview with Deadline, Tomorrow Studios’ Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements spoke about the success of the show and the production details behind the making of the One Piece Live Action while disclosing their long-term plans for the series and how many seasons they think that it could go on for.

While talking about Netflix’s involvement in the renewal of a show and how it’ll affect the future plans of the live-action of One Piece, co-producer Adelstein mentioned that he hopes the show could go as far as 12 seasons if Netflix deems it worthy of consecutive renewal.

In reply to another question whether they’ve at least six seasons in mind or not, Clements gave a positive response saying that they have a roadmap of possible ways to split up to six seasons, but are very united in making sure no truly important stories or characters end up being cut.

“Everything we do is in concert with Netflix, Shueisha, and Oda-san, they are a part of that conversation. We’ve definitely had more thorough conversations about where we would go for seasons three to six. It will require a lot of conversations, but we feel lucky to have the roadmap”, she added.

Adelstein and Clements refrained from addressing the status of One Piece Live Action Season 2 but they believe that the show is going in the right direction and a creative outline for where the story could go has already been crafted. Once Netflix gives a green signal, they’ll be ready to go with the much-anticipated renewal.
