Hot off the heels of Apple’s iPhone 14 announcements, Motorola has come out in force with three new premium handsets. This includes its latest Edge 30 Ultra, Edge 30 Fusion and Edge 30 Neo. The Lenovo-owned mobile phone brand also announced a strategic partnership with Pantone, the global authority on colour.
The launch of our newest motorola edge devices is a huge step forward in the way Motorola delivers the most cutting-edge technology to market. Whether it’s setting new standards in power, performance, cameras, display or design, our edge devices continue to push the boundaries of traditional flagship smartphone conventions.
Kurt Bonnici, Head of Motorola for Australia and New Zealand
Moto’s long term partnership with Pantone means access to the Pantone Colour Institute and a selection of curated colours that feature strong design trends. This includes the 2022 Pantone Colour of the year, Very Peri, which will debut on the Edge 30 Neo.
Motorola 30 edge ultra: capture life without limits
The Edge 30 Ultra sits atop the range and is equipped with class-leading tech and capabilities. This begins with the powerful Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, along with 12GB of ultra-fast DDR5 RAM and 256GB of storage. The Ultra also delivers a new standard in battery charging, providing a day’s charge in 7 minutes, according to the brand. This is made possible using moto’s fastest ever 125 Watt TurboPower feature, and there’s 50W wireless charging as well as 10W wireless power sharing.
Moto’s flagship packs a punch in the photography front too with the industry’s highest ever 200 megapixel sensor, coupled with a f/1.9 aperture main camera lens. And with optical image stabilisation (OIS), there’s added image stability, along with video recording up to 8K, or 33 million pixels of resolution. This is joined by an f/2.2 50MP ultrawide camera for capturing sweeping scenes, and 12MP f/1.6 2x telephoto lens. On the front, there’s a f/2.2 60MP selfie camera that allows for incredibly detailed portraits.
In terms of screen, the Edge 30 Ultra sports a 6.7 inch pOLED unit, with FHD+ (2400 x 1080) resolution and nearly bezel-free design. This is a 144Hz panel, meaning ultra-smooth scrolling and fluid on-screen movement. The display is protected by Corning’s tough Gorilla Glass 5 with an anti-fingerprint coating. The same Gorilla Glass is used on the rear, only with a soft matte finish.
The Edge 30 Ultra will be available at launch in Interstellar Black.
Motorola edge 30 fusion: designed to be boundless
For those who are design inclined, the Edge 30 Fusion delivers a sleek camera housing with a unique, retro look. This contains a f/1.8 50MP main camera sensor with OIS, along with a 13MP f/2.2 ultrawide camera with a 120 degree field of view and Macrovision support. On the front, there’s a 32MP selfie camera with an f/2.45 aperture.
The main camera can record videos up to 8K resolution, and 4K videos from the ultrawide camera.
A Snapdragon 888+ chip beats at the heart of the Edge 30 Fusion, offering a solid combination of performance, battery efficiency, neural processing and 5G connectivity.
Display wise, there’s a borderless 6.55 inch screen that is capable of a 144Hz screen refresh, dynamic Dolby HDR10+ movie playback and FHD+ resolution (2400 x 1080). Rounding out the audio capabilities are dual coin-motor vibration speakers with Dolby Atmos tuning.
For topping up the battery, there’s a 68W TurboPower charger that gives you power for the day in just 10 minutes.
The Motorola Edge 30 Fusion comes in Cosmic Grey and Solar Gold colours.
Motorola edge 30 neo: built for big dreams
The Edge 30 Neo is the first device that wears the 2022 Pantone Colour of the Year, Very Peri. Black Onyx is also available, and both colours feature a subtle Pantone chip inlay on the back. There’s also an option to extend your colour choice to the on-screen user interface.
Designed to be slim, stylish and lightweight, the Edge 30 Neo has a 6.28 inch, 120Hz pOLED screen that can deliver over a billion colour shades. A LED band also wraps around the camera housing and lights up to notify of incoming alerts and messages.
There are two rear facing cameras including a f/1.8 64MP main unit with OIS and Quad Pixel technology. This is paired with a 13MP f/2.2 ultrawide camera with a 120 degree field of view and Macrovision for extreme close ups. On the front is a f/2.4 32MP selfie camera with Quad Pixel technology for better low light performance.
A Snapdragon 695 5G chip provides snappy and smooth performance, along with high-quality post processing for great photo results. It also shares the same 68W TurboPower fast charge, giving you a full day’s battery in just 10 minutes – and there’s wireless charging too.
The Edge 30 is Ready For
All of the Edge 30 range support’s Motorola’s Ready For feature, which enables you to extend your phone to the desktop with a cable or wireless connection. This lets you run apps or even play games on a full sized monitor, connect to keyboards and mice, and even drag and drop files between your Motorola phone and Windows PC.
