Hunter x Hunter community are always fascinated about the fact of whether the series will ever return or not. It has been over 4 years since any update from the author of the original manga series and now, a viral tweet by an account claiming to be Yoshihiro Togashi has given a hint about the Hunter x Hunter return.
Just a few hours ago, a Twitter account appeared claiming to be Yoshihiro Togashi, the creator of Hunter x Hunter himself. The tweet made by the user shows a photo of a manuscript with the caption – “For now, 4 chapters left”. There is not anything else on the account except this one post. Check out the tweet below:
Right after the tweet was posted, it went viral and in just a couple of hours, it has received over 74,000 likes and 38,000 retweets. More than 13,000 comments have been published on the tweet as of now. The profile itself already has more than 70,000 followers and some well-known people in the manga industry are already following it.
One such name is Yusuke Murata who is the illustrator of One Punch Man and he has followed this profile and also, retweeted the post as well. However, he deleted it later as there was no confirmation whether the account belongs to Togashi or not. In another tweet, Murata gave an update about the situation by confirming that the account belongs to Togashi himself.
For now, it can be said for sure that the Hunter x Hunter manga is returning soon as more chapters are in production and Togashi is back to work again. Some fans even complained to Shōnen Jump about the uncertainty of this profile however, nothing has been said by the officials so far. Generally, they’re quick in denying a matter but this time they’re silent.
Hunter × Hunter is a manga series written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Togashi. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump since March 1998. Its last chapter came in 2018 and after that, the series is on a hiatus due to Togashi’s bad health. Official updates will be shared with the fans as soon as possible, if there will be any.
