Anambra is a state in southeastern part of Nigeria. The capital and seat of government is Awka. Onitsha, a historic port city from pre-colonial times is the largest urban area in the state. The state’s theme is “Light of the Nation”, formerly known as the ” Home for all”.

#1. Pete Edochie
Chief Pete Edochie , MON, born March 7, 1947, Enugu , Nigeria but hails Nteje in Oyi Local Government Anambra state, Nigeria, is a Nigerian actor.
Edochie is considered one of Africa ’s most talented actors, being honored with an Industry Merit Award by Africa Magic and Lifetime Achievement by Africa Film Academy. Although a seasoned administrator and broadcaster, he came into prominence in the 1980s, when he played the lead role of Okonkwo in an NTA adaptation of Chinua Achebe ’s all-time best selling novel,Things Fall Apart.
Edochie descends from the Igbo people of Nigeria, and is a Catholic. In 2003, he was honored as a Member of the Order of the Niger by President Olusegun Obasanjo.
He got into radio broadcasting in 1967 at the age of 20, as a junior programmes assistant, after which he was elevated to the level of a Director. He was director of programmes, but doubling sometimes as Deputy Managing Director, and occasionally acting as Managing Director. He quit ABS because the government decided to politicise the affairs of their FM station, thereby resulting in the entire management being asked to move out, including him. He was to be the immediate successor to the MD, but had to leave and enrol into the movie industry.
Prior to that, he had featured in Things Fall Apart, and had won an International Award. The BBC flew into Nigeria to interview him for his role in Things Fall Apart.
In September 2017, Edochie endorsed Wikimedia movement in Nigeria, by appearing in a video to increase awareness, and use of Wikipedia among the older generations.
#2. Amaechi Muonagor
Amaechi Muonagor, born Idemili, Anambra State, is a Nigerian actor and producer. In 2016, he was nominated for AMVCA 2017 Best Actor In A Comedy.
Amaechi Monago is from Obosi village in Idemili, Anambra State in Nigeria. He attended St. Mary’s Primary School, Obosi, Oraifite Grammar School before he furthered his education at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) where he studied Economics and graduated in 1987.
In 1989, after his youth service , Amaechi started working for NAN (News Agency of Nigeria). He left his job a few years later for an acting role in his first movie as Akunatakasi in Taboo 1 , a Nigerian movie.

Sambasa Nzeribe, born Chiedozie Nzeribe Siztus, is a Nigerian film and television actor, model and entertainer.

Don Brymo Uchegbu, popularly known as Don Brymo, is a famous Nollywood actor and a television personality. He acts mostly in action and epic movies alongside with Zubby Michael, Ken Erics, Yul Edochie, Ngozi Ezeonu, Chika Ike, Ini Edo, Tonto Dikeh and other top Nollywood celebrities. Zeal Chigozie Atuanya is a Nigerian actor, producer and entrepreneur.
Chigozie Atuanya was born in Aba , Abia State but hails from Agu-Ukwu Nri in Anambra State . He holds a B.Sc. in Public Administration from Enugu State University of Science and Technology.
He made his screen debut in a 1998 film titled King Jaja of Opobo, and has since gone on to produce and star in several films. He was once a model for Delta Soap, appearing in one of their television commercials.

Ekenedilichukwu Ugochukwu Eric Nwenweh , professionally known as Ken Erics Ugo or simply Ken Erics, is a Nigerian film and television actor, writer and occasional musician. He is popularly known for his role as Ugo in the movie ‘The Illiterate.’
Erics was born in Kano State , Northwest Nigeria on 28 February 1985, and is the sixth of seven children of Eric Chukwuemeka Nwenweh, and Grace Ifeyinwa Nwenweh both of Enugwu-Ukwu in Anambra State, Southeast Nigeria. He is of Igbo descent. Erics had his primary education at Binta Mustapha Science Nursery and Primary School, Kano, and his secondary education at Dennis Memorial Grammar School (DMGS) Onitsha, Anambra State. As a young child, Erics showed a passion for the arts, and this culminated in his admission to the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Anambra State, where he graduated with a degree in Theatre Arts. He also holds a master’s degree in Theatre and Film studies.
In 2014, Erics won the award for Best Supporting Actor at the City People Entertainment Award, as well as the Best Lead Actor at the Afrifimo Awards in the United States. In 2015, he went on to win the Best Lead Actor award at the City People Entertainment Award.
In 2017, Erics won the City People Entertainment Awards 2017 for Best Actor of the Year and was also nominated for the Golden Movie Awards in 2018 for Best supporting Actor.
#7. Nonso Diobi
Nonso Diobi, born July 17, 1985, is a multiple award winning Nigerian actor and film director.
While studying Theatre Art at the University of Nigeria , he made his debut on-screen appearance in a 2001 film titled Border Line, followed by an outstanding performance in the movie tittled “Hatred”. Nonso diobi went on to give a sterling performance in the movie ‘Across the bridge,’ which gave him his major breakthrough, after which he became a house hold name across Africa. Diobi is a native of Nawfia, a small town in Anambra State , Nigeria. He is the founder and chairman of Goldentape media, a leading film/tv production company in Africa. Nonso Diobi is a UN peace ambassador as well as teachers without Borders ambassador. He has starred in over 76 films.

#8. Jim Iyke
The famous movie star was born on September 25th, 1976 in Libreville, Gabon, but he originates from Ogwugwu Village in Enugu Agidi town of Anambra State. in Nigeria. He was born in the family of Stephen Esomugha, and he was one of eight children, among which he was the only boy. He has both older and younger sisters.
Jim Iyke received his education at the University of Jos in Plateau State. He obtained his bachelor degree in Philosophy and then succeeded in getting a diploma in Banking and Finance.
Aside starring in the movies, Jim Iyke also produces his own with the help of his production company. It was founded in 2007 and called “Untamed Productions”. So far, he produced two movies, which had mild success. They included some famous actresses, like Tangerine Martins and Judy Shekoni.

Tony Umez is a Nigerian actor . He has acted in more than 200 Nollywood films of both English and Yoruba languages, since his debut in the 1994 film Died Wretched: Buried in N2.3m Casket.
Tony Umez was born in Ogidi, Anambra State . His mother is from Cross River State while his father is from Ogidi, the same place he was born. Despite his Igbo origin, he doesn’t speak Igbo but can fluently speak Efik , his mother’s language. Umez grew up in Lagos, where he had his primary and secondary education. He also has a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in English, and international law, and diplomacy respectively from the University of Lagos.
He started acting from his secondary days, where he performed on stage play and drama. In 1993, the actor joined Nollywood . He did not get a dime from his two movies which made him leave the industry for a few years.
He returned to the industry in 1997 and featured in the movie,”The Princess,” but it was the movie,” Died Wretched,” which was released in 1998 that made him popular.

Emeka Ike is of an Igbo origin. He was born on March 22, 1967, to a family of Mr. Nickolas Ike and his wife whose name was not saved for the history.
Emeka studied mechanical engineering at the University of Lagos. However, quite soon he felt a burning passion for the art of acting and thus found himself a major role in “Deadly Affair” in 1987. This was the beginning of his career.
Emeka’s career in movies began when Ernest Obi, one of his colleagues in acting, introduced the young passionate would-be actor to Charles Owoyemi, a producer of then popular TV series titled “Fortunes”. At that time, soap operas were at the peak of their popularity, outshining big movies, and even having acted in “Deadly Affair” in 1987, Emeka gained a big popularity only after his appearance in Nollywood TV series.
Since the beginning of his career, Emeka acted in more than 200 movies. In the majority of them, he plays the roles of brutes who are utterly physical and often abuse women.

Ernest Obi is a famous Nollywood actor, director, producer, television personality, entrepreneur, investor and a philanthropist. He was born on 21 June 1970 in Anambra State into a royal family. His father is the Oba 1 of Ukpor in the south eastern part of Nigeria.
Ernest Obi is originally from Anambra State in the south eastern part of Nigeria, but grew up in Lagos State in south western Nigeria. Azubuike Michael Egwu professionally known as Zubby Michael, born 1 February 1985 in Ozubulu Anambra State , Nigeria, is a Nigerian film actor and movie producer. He is known for his role in Three Windows , Royal Storm and Professional Lady. His first appearance was in the movie titled Missing Rib but known for The Three Widows where he played the lead role.
Zubby was born in Ekwusigo Local Government Area in Anambra State, but grew up in Adamawa where he completed his elementary education. He attended Nnamdi Azikiwe University where he obtained a degree in Mass Communication.

Chidi Mokeme, born 17 March 1972 is a Nigerian actor and reality show host.
He hails from Oba in idemili south LGA of Anambra state, south east Nigeria. He was the host of Gulder Ultimate Search Reality-show.
#14. Chris Okagbue
Chris Okagbue, born Okechukwu Christopher Ofala Okechukwu Okagbue , 23 June 1987, is a Nigerian model, actor, movie producer and reality television star. He was the winner of the Gulder Ultimate Search season 8 reality show. He is of the Igbo tribe and is the son of the former Obi of Onitsha.
Okagbue is from Onitsha in Anambra state . He is a twin. He was born into the royal family of the former Obi of Onitsha, the late H.R.H. Obi Ofala Okechukwu Okagbue and Ogechukwu Clara Okagbue, on 23 June 1987. His parents have six children, namely his elder sister Sandra Okagbue, who is a former model and beauty queen, his twin brother Christian, and three younger sisters, Jane, Christabel and Bella. He has a degree in sociology from the University of Lagos.
He made his first appearance in a cinema film, with a small role in the movie A Wish , followed by the movie Playing Safe , both directed by Elvis Chuks. His biggest role is as the lead character in the critically acclaimed movie, Lotanna . He played the role of Lotanna in the film which starred the Ghanaian actress Ama K. Lazarus Edward Nnanyelu Ekwueme, born 28 January 1936, also known as Laz Ekwueme is a Nigerian musicologist , composer, scholar and actor.
He is one of the pioneer lecturers of music in Nigeria and also a prolific writer. He is a scholar who has written numerous articles, and books on music especially the role of music in the lives of Africans, and Africans in diaspora.
Lazarus Ekwueme was born in Oko, Anambra State . He attended Government College ,Umuahia for secondary education and the Royal College of Music , London, where he majored in composition and was under the direction of Gordon Jacob. In London, he earned a total of 10 diplomas in music, Speech and Drama, and he also obtained a bachelor’s degree from the University of Durham . In 1962, he obtained the professional teaching diploma, Licentiate of the Guildhall School of Music.
He left Britain in 1964, and returned to Nigeria, where he took up a faculty position at the University of Nigeria , Nsukka. As a lecturer of Music composition, Theory, History, Singing and Conducting, he was an important member in the pioneering Nigerian music department at Nsukka , which was the first to award music degrees in the country.
16. Bob-Manuel Udokwu
Bob-Manuel Obidimma Udokwu, born 18 April, is a Nigerian actor, director, producer and politician. In 2014, he received the Lifetime Achievement award at the 10th Africa Movie Academy Awards. He was nominated for Best Actor in a supporting role at the 2013 Nollywood Movies Awards for his role in Adesuwa.
He is from Nkwelle-Ogidi, Idemmili North LGA of Anambra State , Nigeria. He is Igbo by tribe. The name of his father is Geoffrey Nwafor Udokwu, and the name of his mother is Ezelagbo Udokwu. He was born in Enugu State . He is the fourth child in a family of 6 children. He is also the second son. He comes from a family which consists of three male and three female children.

Linc Edochie is a Nigerian Actor, Director, and Scriptwriter. He is son to veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie, and brother to actor Yul Edochie. His career as an actor started in 1995 taking up a role in the drama, and so far he has appeared in many movies.
Linc Edochie has starred in multiple Nigerian movies including “one life”, “my wicked uncle”, and “tears of sacrifices” among many others. In most of the movies he has been featured, Linc has managed to execute his role properly – at least according to his loyal fans.

Yul Edochie, born Yul Chibuike Daniel Edochie 7 January 1982, is a Nigerian actor, named after popular Russian actor Yul Brynner.
