Code Geass Movie Marks The Return Of The Series After 15 Years

Bandai Namco’s most decorated mecha anime, Code Geass is heating up for a spectacular anime return in the year 2024. As part of the 10-year plan, the makers of the series have unveiled a new project that will kickstart a new journey for the franchise with a brand new sequel anime film featuring two new lead faces on the crew.

In a special event organized by the producers, the panel guests Jun Fukuyama (Lelouch’s voice actor) and series co-creator Goro Taniguchi showcased the trailer and key visual for the upcoming sequel film titled “Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture. The film also has a release date which is set for May 2024.

“Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture” will be divided into four acts with the first act coming in Japanese theatres in May 2024. The staff list of the film includes Yoshimitsu Ohashi as director, Noboru Kimura as screenplay writer, Takahiko Kimura handling the character design, and Astrays in charge of the Knightmare designs.

Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture takes inspiration from the original series created by Sunrise, Ichiro Okochi, and Goro Taniguchi, with original character designs by CLAMP. The opening theme song “Running In My Head” will be performed by MIYAVI.

Code Geass Movie Premise

The upcoming Code Geass movie is set in the alternate universe and tells the story of two new protagonists, Rozé (voiced by Kohei Amasaki) and Ash (voiced by Makoto Furukawa), who are biological brothers. With the help of Ash’s Knightmare’s “Zi-Apollo”, the pair set out to open up a new era.

More details about the film synopsis are yet to be released by Bandai Namco. As Code Geass is making a return after 15 years, it will be a spectacle to see how the film folds up and would the new protagonists will be able to surpass the legacy of Lelouch vi Britannia.
