The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrashed Akanbi, has always been in the storm of media with all sorts of controversies in the last five years he became a permanent ruler of Iwo Kingdom. On Tuesday, March 16, the controversial Emir of Yoruba Land stepped out in his colourful and stunning outfits but what he said after sharing some pictures have caused mixed reactions on social media!

It will be recalled that 3 years ago precisely on March 2018, he made history to be the first Yoruba traditional ruler to drop Oba titleship and declared his preference to adopt the Emir title popularly identified with the Northern traditional rulers. This is just an instance of his action that has generated controversies in recent times. Others are in-flight between the popular politician, Chief Ogundokun, divorce saga from his estranged Canadian wife, controversial ‘slapping’ of a traditional ruler, Olowu of Ogbaagba land, and so on!

The fresh case was the declaration he made in his palace when he said Muslim prayers should be observed and compulsory. Not only that, he ordered that the palace’s gate be remain closed till prayers are finished. He then told Christians trading in the palace to halt activities to respect the time!

In the meantime, Oluwo stepped out again for an event yesterday and he gave us these beautiful outfits for public glare. And after sharing those pictures on his official page, he writes: “Yorubas Pride of Royalty Emperor Telu1“. The statement didn’t go down well with some people and this then generated mixed reactions:
