R18 animations of popular series have grown into a significant industry over the past few years. Almost every trending series nowadays inevitably gets an H parody. While this is nothing new, what caught fans’ attention recently was the involvement of a key animator from Frieren in an adult anime project.
A few days ago, MapleStar, a widely recognized independent artist known for creating R18 animations of famous anime, unveiled his latest H parody based on “Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End”. The animation features an intimate moment between the characters Fern and Stark.
Titled simply “Fern and Stark Need to Warm Up,” the project has been cited as MapleStar’s most ambitious work to date. With a runtime of 11 minutes, the preview video posted on Twitter/X quickly went viral, amassing over 5 million views within just a few days of its publication.
But, what truly surprised everyone was the participation of Yuuta Suzuhana, who served as the second key animator for Episodes 14 and 17 of the original series. Yuuta revealed on his Twitter/X account that he had contributed to MapleStar’s project, sharing that it was his first time working on an R18 animation.
“This is the first time I’ve shared R18 content like this. I had the opportunity to work with MapleStar on this Fern and Stark animation. Thank you for inviting me to the team!” Yuuta quoted. In addition to Frieren, Yuuta has worked on other popular anime like Vinland Saga, Bleach, and Solo Leveling.
The full H parody, which runs for 11 minutes, is available on MapleStar’s Patreon. Alongside the involvement of a key animator, the project also features specialized voice actors, showcasing MapleStar’s dedication and professionalism in bringing his work to life.
