Gunmen abduct students, teacher in Edo

The police command in Edo State has confirmed that some students and staff of the National Institute of Construction Technology, Uromi, in Esan North Local Government Area of Edo State have been kidnapped.

It was reported that unidentified gunmen invaded the institute in the wee hours of Wednesday, carting away with unknown numbers of persons, including students and staff, to a yet-to-be-identified location.

Bello Kontongs, the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP, confirmed the story to newsmen in Benin, the state capital; he added that “It is true, there was kidnapping, and the police are on the trail of the kidnappers.

“Three persons were kidnapped; one is a staff while the other two are students,” he added.
