Amazon Prime Video’s hit animated superhero series, Invincible, recently released the first batch of its highly anticipated third season. While the new season maintains its signature gore and bloodbath, it also includes a fun surprise for One-Punch Man fans—sneaked in amidst all the chaos.
The first three episodes of Invincible Season 3 premiered this past week on Prime Video, marking a new chapter for Mark Grayson as he confronts his past and future while pushing his limits to protect those he loves.
In one scene, Invincible and Atom Eve disrupt Doc Seismic’s plan by freeing Earth’s heroes. As chaos erupts, the liberated heroes begin fighting back against an army of monsters. Among them, fans spotted a hero who looks strikingly similar to Saitama.
This bald hero, dressed in a yellow cape and red costume, is seen flying through the battle and taking down a magma monster with—fittingly—two punches. It was a clear nod to One-Punch Man, as the background character was none other than “Two-Punch Man,” a playful knockoff of the original.
Invincible creator Robert Kirkman had humorously coined the name “Two-Punch Man” years ago, and now the joke has finally made its way onto the screen. While just a fun Easter egg, longtime One-Punch Man fans appreciated the reference.
For many, it was both nostalgic and hilarious, given that it’s been a while since they’ve seen their hero in action. This unexpected shout-out to Saitama in Invincible Season 3 brought a smile to fans’ faces.
With One-Punch Man Season 3 set to premiere in 2025, superhero genre enthusiasts can enjoy Invincible in the meantime. The first three episodes are now available on Prime Video, with new episodes releasing weekly until March 13, 2025.
