One Piece fans are in for a treat following a long hiatus of the anime TV series. TOEI Animation has just released a brand-new short episode featuring Straw Hat captain Monkey D. Luffy and Heart Pirates captain Trafalgar Law.
On Sunday, the official YouTube channel for the One Piece anime published a new original episode, which is about 5 minutes long. The episode follows the escapades of the two captains as they encounter a massive Sea King shortly after the Wano battle.
One Piece New Episode
The episode begins with the narrator stating, “Now is the Great Pirate Era. This is a scene that happened after the Rooftop Battle in Wano Country that nobody knows.” Luffy is seen wondering where his crew and the Sunny are when Law arrives, mentioning that he received information from Bepo about something hindering their departure.
Suddenly, a massive Sea King appears before them. Law identifies it as the “Lord of the Coast” of Wano Country. After scanning the Sea King’s body, he discovers a sword lodged in its throat. As Law prepares to remove it using his ability, Luffy punches the Sea King with Gear 3rd – Elephant Gun, knocking the sword loose.

As the Sea King is about to fall onto the shore, Luffy asks Law to return it to the water. Law responds, “Like I said, I am not your servant!” before using Takt to safely return the Sea King to the sea. The creature calms down and swims away. The episode ends with the Sunny and the Straw Hat crew arriving.
This short episode feels like a warm gift from the production team to fans who have stayed devoted to the series for so long. Until the anime officially returns in April 2025, fans can enjoy this unexpected collaboration between Luffy and Law on the anime’s official YouTube channel.
