One of the best sports anime series to be released in modern times, Haikyuu!! is all set with its long-awaited sequel in the form of an anime movie. The previously announced “two-part movie” has officially released a new trailer and first look at the visual that confirms the opening date for the much-awaited film.
The upcoming film titled “Haikyu!! FINAL Movie Part 1 – Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump” has dropped its first trailer which gives us a glimpse of the epic match between Karasuno and Nekoma High. A premiere date for the Haikyuu movie has also been decided.
Haikyuu Movie Trailer & Release Date
The production staff at Production I.G. is actively working on the Haikyuu movie, building upon the success of the previous installment. Masako Sato is helming the project as the head director with Takashi Kishimoto as the scriptwriter, and Takahiro Kishida as the character designer of the upcoming film.
Haikyuu Final Movie will pick up from the Tokyo National Tournament with the voice-acting cast returning to reprise their roles in the film. Regarding the premiere date, Haikyuu Movie Part 1 is scheduled to be released in Japan on February 16, 2023.
Haikyuu Movie Synopsis
The movie will be set after the events of the anime series and it will cover the events of the highly anticipated match between Karasuno and Nekoma, the “Dumpster Battle”. The movie will also shift focus from Karasuno to Fukurodani where Bokuto’s explosive play style and his prowess as the ace will be explored.
As the movie is divided into two parts, there’ll be much more to cover in terms of the story including the complete Tokyo Nationals arc, Hinata’s trip to Brazil, and most importantly the time skip arc. The movie is sure to be a hit among the fans and it will be a great opportunity to see an intense drama-packed Haikyuu movie.
