Koyoharu Gotouge’s Demon Slayer recently finished its second anime television series of the franchise which turned out to be very successful around the world. However, this success was reflected in its manga sales as well and eventually, the Demon Slayer manga topped the best selling charts in the United States.
On Monday, media news website ICv2 posted a list of the top-selling manga franchises for Fall 2021 (September-December), as measured in U.S. dollars. According to its analysis of sales reported by NPD BookScan and ComicHub, the Demon Slayer franchise ranked first on the list followed by One-Punch Man and Attack On Titan.
The complete list of top-selling manga franchises for Fall 2021 is:

#2 – One-Punch Man (By ONE & Yusuke Murata)
#3 – Attack On Titan (By Hajime Isayama)
#4 – Berserk (By Kentaro Miura)
#5 – My Hero Academia (By Kohei Horikoshi)
#6 – Junji Ito Horror (By Junji Ito)
#7 – Jujutsu Kaisen (By Gege Akutami)
#8 – JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure (By Hirohiko Araki)
#9 – Toilet-Bound Hanako-Kun (By Iro Aida)
#10 – Chainsaw Man (By Tatsuki Fujimoto)
Chainsaw Man & Junji Ito’s Horror manga are the only works in the list that made their way into the top 10 list without an anime adaptation. Demon Slayer got benefitted from the Mugen Train & Entertainment District Arc adaptation last year meanwhile, Attack On Titan released its final volume last year.
NPD BookScan collects weekly point-of-sale data on print books from over 16,000 locations in which it covers approximately 85% of the U.S. trade print book market. After that, the ranks are determined on the basis of piece sales all over the country.
ICv2 also posted a list of the “Most Efficient Manga Franchises” for retailer bookshelves as well based on the website’s calculations of which manga franchises had the highest sales per volume. One-Punch Man was leading the chart followed by Demon Slayer holding the second spot.
