Aoashi is a football-based manga series written & illustrated by Yūgo Kobayashi which won the prestigious 65th Shogakukan Manga Award for the general category. In 2021, Production I.G. announced an anime television adaptation of the series which will premiere in April 2022.
Ashito Aoi is a young, aspiring soccer player from a backwater town in Japan. His hopes of getting into a high school with a good soccer club are dashed when he causes an incident during a critical match for his team, which results in their loss and elimination from the tournament. Bubble is an upcoming animated film produced by Wit Studio. The film is set to release worldwide on Netflix on April 28 before being released theatrically in Japan in May. Bubble features some well-known faces from the Japanese industry faces which includes Yuki Kaji, Mamoru Miyano and Marina Inoue.
The story is set in Tokyo after bubbles that broke the laws of gravity rained down upon the world. Cut off from the outside world, Tokyo has become a playground for a group of young people who have lost their families, acting as a battlefield for parkour team battles as they leap from building to building.
Hibiki, a young ace known for his dangerous playstyle, makes a reckless move one day and plummets into the gravity-bending sea. His life is saved by Uta, a girl with mysterious powers.
