LG and Kiis FM flood support initiative for NSW families

LG Electronics Australia and Kiis FM will replace damaged household appliances and electronics products in 150 NSW flood impacted homes .

The$200,000 program will help families in flood-affected areas get back on track. The white goods include hard to get refrigerators, washing machines and microwaves.  Other LG products include home appliances, home entertainment, computer and air conditioning.

Areas hardest hit included the NSW mid-north coast towns of Port Macquarie, Kempsey, Laurieton, and Taree, and west of Sydney around Penrith and in the Hawkesbury-Nepean Valley.

“We need to take care of our communities. We all need to help those in need and support them as they look to rebuild their lives. I am pleased we have been able to partner with Kiis FM to make a meaningful contribution to these families.”

Gemma Lemieux, Marketing Director, LG Electronics Australia

The first three families received their packages today, as part of the program launch with Kiis FM radio personalities Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O. To learn more about the relief package program, please visit the Kiis FM website at www.kiis1065.com.au/

Today LG also announced it would relaunch its LG Local Legends program in 2021, which rewards and celebrates people, charity groups and community organisations throughout Australia that go above and beyond to make everyone’s life that little bit better.

Last year the program supported more than 30 families, with 24 LG Local Legends coming from many worthy causes.  The program recommences in May, and those looking to learn more about the program should visit here.

GadgetGuy’s take – thankyou, LG and KiiS

Bushfires, floods, locusts, China trade embargoes and more. We stoically take it on the chin, and the good old Aussie spirit prevails – she will be right, mate.

LG’s gesture is selfless. It is from a company with long and deep ties to Australia. Ironically a good proportion of the flood-damaged goods will be from LG.

But more importantly, LGs gesture is helping 150 families jump the queue to get items that fast. Things that are scarce and make the difference from rising out of the flood to getting back to living.

And the Local Legends program – well, it is the epitome of being a great corporate citizen. Please visit the local legend’s website – it is inspiring.
